Susan Carr has been dancing for over nine years, and teaching for over eight. She has competed nationally and regionally. In 1998, she placed Second in the New England Swing Dance Championships and, in 1999, placed First in the Intermediate Division, as a leader! Susan’s creative and carefree styling, along with her technical instruction, have made her well known as a dancer and instructor in southeastern Connecticut. Within her career as instructor, organizer, producer and promotor of dance events, she has worked with dance greats including Damon Stone, Peter Strom, Lia Jordano and the incomparable Frankie Manning. In 2000 and 2001, Susan brought Frankie to Connecticut, where up to 300 dancers from 10 different states attended. In 2002, Susan traveled to the U.S. Open with the Manhattan-based dance team “Thunder Puss,” where the team took 4th Place in the Team Division.
