The Marblehead School of Ballet (founded in 1971 by director Paula K. Shiff) is the
home of the North Shore Civic
Ballet , founded in 1974 by Paula K. Shiff and Florence C. Whipple.
Tuition Policy
Students are issued a registration card valid for 10 classes
at the beginning of the term (one card for each class registered and paid for). Students are
welcome to start at any time and do not have to wait for a new term to begin.
Missed classes can be made up at any time during the 10-week session. In
addition, students have two weeks after a card expires to make up a class
if they have registered and paid for the next set of classes. Please
make arrangements with the office. There are no refunds for classes not taken.
Progress is achieved through consistent attendance and continuity of work.
Please notify the office in advance if you are going to miss a class.
Note: Class placement must be approved by the administration.
Parent/teacher conferences may be arranged at any time.

Visitors to the Marblehead School of Ballet are welcome to take an
individual class at any time through the year with a
maximum attendance of 2 continuous weeks before enrollment is required.
Private lessons or coaching is available, as are work-study scholarships.

Attendance
- Progress is achieved through consistent attendance.
- Please notify the office regarding absences and/or scheduling a make-up class.
- IF students have registered and paid for the next 10-weeks, they have an additional 2 weeks to make up a class.
- Children taking Creative Movement or Pre-Ballet also have a 2 week grace period for making up classes (A new 10-week term starts as soon as a child has completed a 10-class period or at the end of 12 weeks, whichever comes first).
- There are no refunds for classes not taken.
