The Watertown Studio

Rugcutters' Dance Studio is located at 268 Arlington Street (just off Mount Auburn Street) in Watertown, Massachusetts. Ron Gursky, who has been teaching for more than 30 years, runs Rugcutters. Nancy Murphy has extensive training in ballet, Latin, ballroom, and swing dancing.

Swing, Latin, and Ballroom are all taught here as well as other dances. Group classes are held during weekday evenings and Sunday afternoons. If you have limited time and would like to learn to look good on a dance floor the most cost effective was to do this is through group instruction. It's fun, it's easy, and it's relaxed; but we're serious about how you look. There is a 10% discount for high school or college students (bring an ID). Interested in trying out a class before committing to a complete session? Pay for the first class and decide that evening if you want to sign up for the whole 5-6 weeks of classes. There is no charge to repeat any level 1 class. Single classes can be attended for $10 per person per hour.

Either Ron Gursky or Nancy Murphy are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays before or after classes for private lessons. To schedule private instruction for content, technique work, choreography, or coaching, contact the teacher directly (Ron at 617-393-0254 or Nancy at dance@rugcutters.net.

The Melrose Location

• From Stoneham Center - at the Old Stoneham Theater in Center, take a left onto Franklin Street, just before Loves Furniture. Follow Franklin Street for 2 miles; the church is on the left.
• From Wakefield - follow Main Street towards Melrose. About 1/2 mile past Billy's Roast Beef, take a right at lights (Franklin St.) Church is less than 1/2 mile down on your right.
• From Malden - Follow Main Street into Melrose. Go through Melrose Center. After Ell Pond on your left, bear left on Main St. Cross the Fellsway at the Shell Gas Station. The next set of lights past the Foodmaster is Franklin Street; go left. The church is less than 1/2 mile on your right.
• From Route 1 North - Take the Essex Street, Melrose/Route 99 exit/Stoneham exit between Dunkin Donuts and Brooks (Brooks what?). Cross over Route 1. Go past Square One Mall on your right. Essex Street turns into Upham Street. Go about 2 miles to a set of lights (Lebanon St.) Take a right. Go (to or through?) 5 sets of lights onto Main Street. After Foodmaster on your left, take a left at the lights onto Franklin Street. The church is less than 1/2 mile on your right.
• From Route 1 South - Take the exit at Kelly's Roast Beef & Prince House of Pizza. Follow the road for one mile to set of lights. Go right and take a quick left at the next set of lights onto Howard Street. Follow Howard about one mile and at the fork, bear right onto Green Street. Go straight through intersection, crossing Main Street and onto Franklin Street. The church is less than 1/2 mile down on your right.
• From Route 93 North - Take the Montvale Avenue exit. Go right off the exit. Follow the road all the way to Stoneham Center. Go right at lights onto Route 28 (Main Street, Stoneham). Follow directions from Stoneham Center.
• From Route 93 South - Take the Montvale Avenue exit. At the McDonalds, go left under I-93. Follow the road all the way to Stoneham Center. Go right at lights onto Route 28 (Main Street, Stoneham). Follow the directions from Stoneham Center.
