 Hartford Swing Jam/Dance

Hartford Swing is two parts of an volunteer-run swing dance club that offers swing dancing throughout the year under the non-profit umbrella organization, Hartford Community Dance. All dances are alcohol- and smoke-free.

Hartford Swing Dance hosts swing bands at the West Hartford Town Hall on the 1st Fridays of every month.

Hartford Swing Jam offers a DJ dance at the Wethersfield American Legion Hall in Wethersfield on the 4th Saturday of the month.

Hartford Community Dance offers 5 different venues for dance in the the central Connecticut Area:

  • Swing Dance with live music. (1st Friday)
  • Contra Dance with live music. (2nd Saturday)
  • Cajun/Zydeco dance with live music (3rd Saturday)
  • SwingJam with record music (4th Saturday)
  • Mostly Waltz with live music (Sundays)

As of September 1, 2010, HCD membership is free. HCD members receive email announcements of dance-related information, including last minute cancelations. "Membership discount" is no longer available at HCD dances. Instead, members can pick up a "frequent dancer card" and get it stamped at each regular HCD event; collect stamps for 8 paid admissions, and your 9th regularly-scheduled HCD dance is free.
