Places to Go Dancing

Those of you in southern New Hampshire might want to check out listings in northern Massachusetts because it's right next door. Those elsewhere in the state might want to check out neighboring Maine or Vermont. Those in northern New Hampshire might want to look at listings in Québec

Editor's Note: I don't get up to New Hampshire much so I don't have much personal experience with these dance venues. I depend on the kindness of local dancers to keep me informed of local activity. If you find that some of this information needs to be updated or if you would like to make an addition to this webpage, please write to me at dancenet@havetodance.com.

If you teach classes, hold workshops, play in a band, or hold dances, please read the list of frequently asked questions before you ask to have your information listed here.

Help!
Sometimes I'll see a dance band play at a non-standard venue and I sometimes wonder if these venues are conducive for dancing, i.e., do they have a dance floor? Some of the venues and some of the bands aren't very helpful in providing that information, particularly if it discourages people from showing up. I don't get a chance to check out most of these venues so please help me provide better information to my readers by letting me know which venues are suitable for dancing. Thanks!

No Dancing

There are few random places where you might find one of your favorite bands playing, yet there's no dancing (and probably no dance floor anyway). It'll probably be a bar or restaurant offering live entertainment. While the venue might be nice for dining or drinking, don't go there for dancing.

Hanover Street Chophouse
159 Hanover STreet, #100, Manchester.
Jazz Nights started March, 2011. No dance floor.

Strange Brew Tavern
88 Market Street, Manchester. 603-666-4292.
Word has it that there is sort a small dance area in front of the band area, but it's not really a dance floor. No cover.
